MEDIA RELEASE

Admission to the Treasure Hawaii auction is free. That’s because this auction is held online. Anyone with access to a computer and the Internet can participate in the Treasure Hawaii auction by going to www.FOFHawaii.org

An online auction is a win-win shopping experience. The successful Treasure Hawaii bidders wins the enjoyment of an item or experience while the community wins from the increased support for a nonprofit, Friends of the Future.

Friends of the Future was created 20 years ago to perpetuate the essence of Hawaii for the world’s benefit.

The Treasure Hawaii online auction makes available one-of-a kind items and “private access” opportunities such as golf at private courses. In addition to golf, there are hotel and B&B accommodations, fun in the Hawaiian sun-outdoor activities, dining and other Tastes of Hawaii.

Treasure Hawaii continues until the electronic gavel falls at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28. Individuals who need a computer, Internet access or other help accessing the online auction are invited to visit Tutu’s House or call 885-6777.

In the past 20 years, 50 community initiatives have been part of Friends of the Future. Through Friends of the Future, many of the initiatives have completed their work, developed their own nonprofit organization, or become part of other organizations.

Twelve programs are currently part of Friends of the Future:
