La Ike Day at Kahaluu Bay (Aug. 13)

* 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13
Kahaluu Beach Park Main Pavilion

We continue to work on cleaning up our beloved Kahaluu Beach Park after the devastating tsunami of March 11.

Skilled rock wall builders as well as able-bodied, strong volunteers are needed to help finish the building of the safety wall at Waikuaaala pond and help to paint the north station.

The county will provide the paint supplies and paint; please bring ladders. If you would like to work on the pond project please bring rubber boots and work gloves.

Starbucks will provide pastries, coffee and tea in the morning and Huggo’s Restaurant will provide lunch.

If you would like to kokua, contact Cindi Punihaole at 895-1010 or at cpunihaole@kohalacenter.org.

Sponsors include Island Naturals Market and Deli, Starbucks, Huggos and Hawaii Tourism Authority.
