Fire/rescue crews answered a 5:13 a.m. alarm Sunday (Aug 7) for a missing diver in Kapoho Bay. A 26 year-old man was last seen about 150 yards in Kapoho Bay fronting the Champagne Pond.

Firefighters, rescue personnel and the missing diver’s family located the man on the bottom of the ocean in 10 feet of water 150 yards off-shore. Chopper One was used to airlift the victim to shore where the body was turned over to police.

The cause of the fatality is under investigation.
