Hawaiian promotes Slay to human resources managing director

MEDIA RELEASE

Hawaiian Airlines has announced the promotion of Sarah Slay to managing director of human resources operations.

A certified public accountant, Slay is primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day administration of compensation, benefits and services that Hawaiian provides to its 4,000-plus employees.

She also oversees Hawaiian’s programs related to employee advancement, such as performance and promotion reviews. She reports to Barbara Falvey, Hawaiian’s senior vice president – human resources.

“Sarah earned this promotion and its added responsibilities because of the superb job she did in overseeing the company payroll these past several years,” Falvey said. “As Hawaiian continues to grow and add more jobs, she provides us with the management skills needed to ensure that our workforce will enjoy the full benefits of one of the best employee packages in the airline industry and in the State of Hawaii.”

Slay has been with Hawaiian since 2005, previously serving as senior director of payroll. Before joining Hawaiian, she worked in the Atlanta area where she began her career as a senior accountant with Deloitte & Touche, LLP.

Her professional background also includes serving as a senior internal auditor for Turner Broadcasting Systems, a finance manager for Murex Diagnostics, and a general manager of payroll for Delta Air Lines.

Slay is an alumnus of Emory University in Atlanta, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and economics, and a Masters of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in accounting.
