A High Surf Advisory is in effect for South facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands along with Big Island North and Eastern shores 6 a.m. this morning through 6 p.m. Thursday (June 23).
Surf heights of five to eight feet are forecast increasing to eight to ten feet on Wednesday. Beachgoers can expect large breaking waves and should use caution due to dangerous rip currents and beach erosion.
The large swells have been generated from an intense low-pressure system Southeast of New Zealand last week.
