Former Kamehameha-Hawaii baseball player Kolten Wong was honored by Mayor Billy Kenoi during a ceremony Wednesday (June 15) in Hilo. Wong was selected in the first round of the Major League Baseball draft, picked as the 22nd overall player by the St. Louis Cardinals.

Wong played three seasons at the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he was a three time Western Athletic Conference first team All-American. He is considered to be one of the best pure hitters in this year’s draft.
