The Winter Weather Advisory for Big Island summits has been cancelled by the National Weather Service in Honolulu as of 3:37 p.m.

The low pressure system just to the Northeast of the state is expected to remain in the area until Saturday (June 4). There are some snow showers on the summit but snow accumulation is expected to be light.

A Small Craft Advisory is still in effect for the Alenuihaha Channel and Southeast waters around the Big Island until 6 p.m. Thursday (June 2).

The Weather Service forecasts raised lightning activity over leewards slopes of the Big Island starting Thursday afternoon which may ignite wildfires.
