Winter weather advisory for Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa continues

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the Winter Weather Advisory for the summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa until 6 p.m. Wednesday (May 11).

Conditions on the summits are forecast to be freezing rain, snow and freezing fog making traveling to the summit difficult. The Mauna Kea summit access road is closed.

Visitors to Mauna Kea summit are urged to use caution when driving due to slippery roads.
