Parker School student’s act of kindness

Special to Hawaii 24/7

When Parker School eighth grader Hannah Parkin heard the tsunami in Japan had claimed classmate Merrin Dickson’s uncle, she went into action.

Hannah collected gifts from family and friends and gave it to the Dickson family saying, “It wasn’t much, but I felt like I needed to do something and this was how I could help.”

Mr. Dickson recently traveled to Japan for the grim task of collecting the remains of his 27-year-old brother.

The Dickson family said they are going to use the money to buy supplies for tsunami victims, including food and water.

Parker School proudly applauds Hannah’s act of kindness.
