HCFCU forms member advisory teams

MEDIA RELEASE

To better serve the financial needs of its 38,000 members, the Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union is forming Member Advisory Teams in each of the geographic regions that it serves across Hawaii Island including Honokaa, Kohala, Kona and Kealakekua.

“Our new Member Advisory Teams will help us gain timely insight on economic trends within the communities we serve. Immediate status updates on each community’s financial outlook will help HCFCU develop programs to help our members navigate through these tough economic times. For the past 75 years, the Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union has served our members and their communities,” CEO and president James Takamine said.

HCFCU Member Advisory Teams will be comprised of seven community volunteers who will gather monthly with Takamine for hour-long talk story sessions to discuss economic trends and identify community financial needs where the credit union might be of service. Discussion topics will include community building, social responsibility, financial education and community outreach.

HCFCU members interested in volunteering to serve on a Member Advisory Team are invited to contact Stephanie Place at 930-7603 or by email at stephp@hicommfcu.com.

Individuals selected to serve on the HCFCU Member Advisory Teams will represent broad demographics and economic sectors within their communities.
