…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY THIS MORNING FOR THE BIG ISLAND SUMMITS…

.COLD AIR ALOFT COMBINED WITH NARROW LAYERS OF UPPER LEVEL MOISTURE MAY PRODUCE ICY CONDITIONS ON THE BIG ISLAND SUMMITS THIS MORNING.

BIG ISLAND SUMMITS-
INCLUDING…MAUNA LOA AND MAUNA KEA ABOVE 8000 FEET
331 AM HST MON MAR 28 2011

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON HST TODAY…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HONOLULU HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY…WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON HST TODAY.

A MIXTURE OF LIGHT SLEET AND LIGHT FREEZING RAIN MAY ACCUMULATE ON THE SUMMITS THIS MORNING. THESE ICY CONDITIONS WOULD MOST LIKELY AFFECT ELEVATIONS ABOVE 12 THOUSAND FEET.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SLEET OR FREEZING RAIN MAY CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE EXTRA CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
