Foster Care Library Program (March 16)

* 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 16

Kealakekua Public Library will be hosting a free informational seminar given by Kaulana Iokia on becoming a resource family for children in foster care.

On any given day in Hawaii, there are keiki who are in need of a safe and loving ohana. Removed from their homes due to abuse and/or neglect, keiki are sometimes placed in homes outside of their communities because there are not enough resource families in the area.

Partners in Development Foundation (PIDF) was contracted by the state Department of Human Services to identify, recruit, train, and assess families that are willing to open their hearts and homes to children in foster care.

For more information contact the Kealakekua Public Library at 323-7585 or visit the PIDF website at www.pidf.org
