Baptiste leading yoga bootcamp at Kalani

MEDIA RELEASE

Kalani Oceanside Retreat welcomes Baron Baptiste to headline this year’s roster of more than 100 yoga and wellness events at the retreat center in Puna.

The sold-out annual teacher training this week is bringing yoga instructors to Kalani’s jungle and ocean view studios for a week-long immersion in the Power Vinyasa tradition.

Baron Baptiste

Baptiste is known for creating an immersive environment of extraordinary standards, while teaching how to meld the perfect blend of technical knowledge and radiant spirituality into one’s teaching style.

Baptiste was born into a lineage and heritage of health, yoga and spiritual educators. Baptiste’s celebrated parents, Walter and Magana, were pioneers in the yoga and fitness movement, opening the first yoga center in San Francisco in 1955. He was raised to teach and educate.

Yoga Journal Magazine has proclaimed: “If there were a royal family of American yoga, Baron Baptiste would certainly be a prince.”

Being ahead of the times, Baptiste was once yoga’s greatest sensationalist. Now he’s its leading pragmatist. The traditional yoga community along with yoga purists cannot deny the magnetism and magnitude of his message and methodology.

“Kalani is an amazing and energizing place – and I am appreciative and supportive of their chartable mission. It is truly a pleasure to hold my Baptiste Yoga teacher trainings at this magical venue,” he said.

Baptiste’s “Journey Into Power” at Kalani is followed by near-weekly yoga retreats of varying traditions. Baptiste joins other well known Yogis who have held retreats at Kalani, including Shiva Rea, John Friend, and Ana Forrest. Retreats are available for all audiences, from the yoga beginner to those with a deep committed practice.

“Core to Kalani’s mission is education, and to further Hawaiian traditions, such as the spirit of aloha,” said Richard Koob, Kalani’s founder and director. “Yoga is one of the wonderful ways we can nurture this spirit within us. I am thankful to the great teachers of our time, such as Baron Baptiste, for bringing this ancient healing practice to Hawaii’s shores.”

For more than 20 years, Baptiste has been an impactful teacher, trainer, leader and catalyst in the realm of personal growth. Baptiste has impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of people from dozens of countries with his best-selling books, video/audio products, public speaking engagements, live trainings and workshop presentations and appearances.

Baptiste’s books have been published and translated into more than 12 languages globally.

Kalani Oceanside Retreat has been a soulful place of refuge and renewal for international guests, for well over 30 years. A 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit organization, Kalani celebrates Hawaii, nature, culture and wellness.

Kalani provides classes and workshops, healthy vegetarian-friendly cuisine, comfortable accommodations for every budget, rejuvenating bodywork treatments, recreational facilities, and educational adventures.
