Pahoa’s quest for a second straight state boys basketball title was thwarted Saturday evening by Farrington, 58-45.

Going into the game, both teams were seeking their second title. Pahoa (11-7) won this year’s BIIF title and was the reigning champion; Farrington (18-1) lifted the trophy in 2008.

Also in Division II, St. Joseph landed in sixth place and McKinley took fifth. In a close match-up, McKinley came out ahead, 43-40.

Pahoa’s Nicklas Fisher was among the six players selected by media members to the All-Tournament Team
