BIG ISLAND SUMMITS-
INCLUDING…MAUNA LOA AND MAUNA KEA ABOVE 8000 FEET
332 AM HST FRI JAN 14 2011

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM HST THIS MORNING…

ISOLATED SNOW SHOWERS MAY OCCUR THIS MORNING. FREEZING DRIZZLE OR PATCHY FREEZING RAIN MAY ALSO DEPOSIT A THIN LAYER OF ICE ON EXPOSED SURFACES. ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 INCH OF SNOW AND…OR ICE ARE POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

HIKERS AND CAMPERS SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER POSTPONING ANY TRIPS TO THE SUMMIT UNTIL AFTER THE INCLEMENT WEATHER PASSES.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW AND FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
