The low-light cloudcam is facing East towards Hilo and you can usually see the lights of the city and the belt road through Hamakua along with boats and barges on the ocean. You can also see Interisland and Mainland flights arriving and departing from Hilo airport.

The camera starts taking images just before sunset and stops just after sunrise. During that time you usually see the moon rise or set as well. At this sensitivity the moonrise can be very bright and look a lot like a sunrise but if you see stars you can know it is still night-time.
