The 20th annual Pahoa Holiday Parade travels its usual route along Pahoa Village Road and ends at Pahoa High/Intermediate School where there will be a hoolaulea with free entertainment.

* 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Keauhou Shopping Center
The 11th Annual WinterFest, presented by Hawaii Montessori Schools-Kona Campus. Horseback riding, rock wall climbing, a train maze, bake sale, and a whole lots more. And keiki get to enjoy the Children’s Zumba with Katie Moore.

* 5:30-8 p.m., Kona Village Resort
Christmas at Kona Village, Dining with the Chefs. Tantalizing cuisine prepared by the isle’s top chefs; gingerbread display hand-crafted by culinary students attending Hawaii Community College (HawCC)-West Hawaii; live auction. * 6 p.m., Waimea’s 50th annual Twilight Parade

About 50 lighted units including HELCO’s joyful Toys For Tots Train, and as many as 50 lighted trucks – plus Santa and Mrs. Santa on a magical float created by the staff of North Hawaii Community Hospital. Also in the lineup of special guests will be one of Hawaii’s favorite newscasters, who is also the 2010 Lokahi Giving Project co-chair, Trini Kaopuiki from KHON-TV2. Grand Marshall is Kuhao Kawaauhau-Case – blind since birth and 14-year-old piano prodigy.

* 7-10 p.m., Winter Star Party, Waimea
Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope’s Waimea headquarters. Telescopes on the lawn. Keiki table, an “Ask an Astronomer” booth and showing of “Hawaiian Starlight,” plus the remote observing room will be open for a sneak peak of what it’s like to observe on the summit of Mauna Kea. Snacks, coffee, hot chocolate will be served. There is no charge and everyone is invited.

Keiki Christmas crafts and candy canes. Performances from Kahikina’s ukulele class, Hula Na Kaikamahine O Keakua Kie Kie, Kealakehe High School Dance Company and Kealakehe Intermediate Chorus also are planned. The center is the official drop off site for Lokahi 2010. Lokahi tree names are available for donations; bring a new unwrapped gift to Jamba Juice.

Visit with Santa and his friends, free arts and crafts for the keiki by Kona Ace Hardware, free goodie bags filled with holiday merchant specials and gifts for the first 100 keiki to visit Santa, holiday entertainment, holiday craft fair and a drawing to win a stocking full of toys. Visit the angel wreaths to help fulfill wishes for families served by The Salvation Army, Jonathan Dale Miller Foundation, Kona Task Force on Feeding The Hungry’s Meet & Eat Program and The Neighborhood Place Of Kona.

* 10 a.m., Waikoloa Christmas Parade & Keiki Festival
Parade from the top of Paniolo Road to Waikoloa School, free pictures with Santa, free hot dogs for keiki, food booths and craft vendors, a magic show and Zoo Choo Train rides plus music.

* 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Luau with Santa at The Shops at Mauna Lani Center Stage
With six canned goods or a new unwrapped toy (or cash), the first 100 people will receive lunch provided by Foodland Farms, Monstera, Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar. While enjoying this great food you can enjoy the West Hawaii Dance Academy, The Great Barusky Magic Show and hula by Na Lehua E Liko No Kawailani. Enjoy the Hawaiian culture and support both the Rock n Roll Motorcycle Club Toys for Tots and Hawaii Island Food Basket. All monies collected will be divided equally between the two charities.
