TMT hearings slated in Hilo, Kona (Dec. 2-3)

The state has scheduled two public hearings in December to gather input on the proposed Thirty Meter Telescope.

Department of Land and Natural Resources staff are gathering testimony for a pending Conservation District Use Application. The Board of Land and Natural Resources will vote on the request to construct the telescope after the hearings.

The meetings are:

* 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 at the Hawaii County Council meeting room, 25 Aupuni St., Hilo

* 6 p.m. Wednesady, Dec. 3 at the Gateway Center, Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority, 73-4460 Queen Kaahumanu Highway #101, Kailua-Kona.
