BYU-Hawaii wins takes team titles at Cross Country meet on Oahu

Women’s Cross Country

Kirsta Andrew paced the University of Hawaii at Hilo squad with a seventh place finish at the Hawaii Pacific University Cross Country Invitational outside of Kualoa Ranch on Oahu.
Andrew finished the 5k course in 19:46.

HPU’s Frida Aspnas won the race with a time of 18:54. Brigham Young University-Hawaii won the team race followed by Hawaii Pacific University, University of Hawaii at Manoa, California Baptist University, UHH and Chaminade.

Also running for the Vulcans were Kaylene Peric (18th, 20:29), Liliana DeSmither (38th, 24:39), Kapua Lapera (41st, 27:54) and Rachel Clute (45th, 31:54).

Men’s Cross Country

Nick Ucker finished fourth in the Hawaii Pacific University Cross Country Invitational out of Kualoa Ranch on Oahu’s east shore.

Ucker finished the 8k course in 26:59.

Brigham Young University-Hawaii won the team race followed by Hawaii Pacific University, California Baptist University, UHH and Chaminade University.

Completing the UHH squad were Zach Johnson (17th, 28:57), Nick Hagemann (23rd, 29:51), Justin Pang (25th, 30:14), Paul Mauser (34th, 32:12) and Justin Imai (37th, 32:41).

BYUH’s Thomas Puzey won the race with a time of 26:48.
