Kona Stories schedule of events (Oct. 14-27)

* Permission to Shine with Trisha Doyle
Date: Thursdays Oct. 14 – Nov. 4, 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Where: Kona Stories Book Shop Ohana Room
Start becoming the person who can live out your dreams by attending this 4 week workshop series. This class facilitated by author, Tricia Doyle will walk you through exercises to help you celebrate a new reality, stretch beyond your limits, be more passionate and purposeful and help you believe in a new reality where all things are possible. * Ladies Craft Night
Date: Friday Oct. 15, 6 – 9 p.m.
Where: Kona Stories Book Shop Ohana Room
This night is set aside for women to get together and work on their craft projects. Bring your own materials for what you are working on, tables and chairs are provided. Bring a pupu, salad or beverage to share. Room donation is $5. Space is limited.

* Angel Reading with Elena
Date: Friday Oct. 15, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Where: Kona Stories Book Shop Lanai
Come and hear what your angels have to say to you. Angels are powerful, wise and loving guides who can motivate and heal you in many ways. Elena, an “Angel Reading Practitioner”, is a clairvoyant intuitive who will help you in giving a clear direction and tools in your spiritual journey. She is an Advanced Certified Angel therapist by Doreen Virtue. Readings will typically be 15 minutes for $20.

* Lesbian Group
Date: Tuesday, Oct. 19, 6 p.m.
Where: Kona Stories Book Shop Ohana Room
This woman identified group meets once a month to discuss lesbian literature or films. This month we will be viewing and discussing the film “Lesbian Nation”. This anthology of five daring short films explores life as a lesbian in modern times. Bring a pupu, salad or beverage to share. Room donation $5.

* Qi Gong Practice Group
Date: Wednesday, Oct. 20, 6 p.m
Where: Kona Stories Ohana Room
Qigong is an integration of postures, breathing, and focused intentions. This is a practice group with minimal instruction. Everyone is welcome and this group is Free. This class meets at Kona Stories in the Ohana Room.

* Stein on Writing Group
Date: Thursday, Oct. 21, 7 p.m.
Where: Kona Stories Ohana Room
This tightly focused group, moderated by writing enthusiast Bill McCowatt, will meet Thursday at 6 p.m. to listen and learn from the audio-book “Stein on Writing.” Disciplined discussion and readings to follow. $7/session or $70 for all 12 sessions. * Lomilomi Laau Lapaau
Date: Friday, Oct. 22, 1 – 3 p.m.
Where: Kona Stories Book Shop Ohana Room
Presented by Ginger Uilani Llanes authentic ancient Hawaiian Lomilomi Come learn from a master of Hawaii nei. Uilani is Hawaiian born, Hawaiian blood, from our heart and deepest aloha. This sacred lost art of ancient healing has been passed down through her family generations. * Just the Facts Non Fiction Book Group
Date: Oct. 26, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Kona Stories Lanai
This non-fiction reading group meets once a month to discuss literature of history, biography or science. This month’s discussion will be on the book “One Bullet Away” by Nathaniel Fick. Fick unveils the process that makes Marine officers such legendary leaders and shares his hard-won insights into the differences between military ideals and military practice. In this deeply thoughtful account of what it’s like to fight on today’s front lines, Fick reveals the crushing pressure on young leaders in combat. This event is free and open to the public. Bring a pupu, salad or beverage to share.
