Brushfire burns three acres in Honokaa Wednesday (Oct 13)

Fire/rescue crews responded to a 1:32 p.m. alarm Wednesday (Oct 13) for a brushfire in a pasture area of Honokaa near Naupaka Street.

Upon arrival crews found a three acre brushfire moving uphill in a westward direction. A bulldozer cut a fire break and was able to stop the fire’s spread with Chopper One doing water drops.

The pasture land is owned by Kukaiau Ranch and was being used for the planting of Koa trees. The fire was reported to be out by 7 p.m. There were no injuries reported and no structures threatened by the fire.
