George Heneghan Fun Run results

MEDIA RELEASE

The Sept. 26 George Heneghan Fun Run drew 130 Big Island runners of all ages and abilities from Kona to Hilo. The field included 44 Keiki running in a 1K and 86 others running the 5K race course with the daunting “Knob Hill” at its midpoint.

Proceeds of the event benefit the Athletic and Physical Education Programs at Parker School. Mahalo to all participants and volunteers, Mamane Bakery, Palani French Bakers, Starbucks, Parker School Parent Teacher and Student Organization for generously donating delicious refreshments and baked goods for the event; and to Ace Hardware for donating the safety pins.

Overall winners in the Keiki 1K female division include first place Sienna Byrne, second place Charlotte Head and third place Rachel Thompson.

The 1K male division winners were first place Koa Higgins, second place Griffen Head and third place Lucas Biondi.

In the 5K female division winners were first place Robyn Debendef, second Alexandra Payne and third place Chrissy Lingelbach.

The 5K male division winners were first place Chris Evans, second place Jesse Tarnas and third place Daniel Gregg.
