MEDIA RELEASE

The Kona Coffee Cultural Festival magazine has been honored with the Public Relations Society of America Koa Hammer Award of Excellence. The Koa Anvil Awards recognize outstanding public relations programs and tactics and encourage improved public relations performance and techniques.

“We are very proud of our magazine and the honor of receiving this PRSA Koa Hammer award. Every year, we share the Kona coffee story with thousands of readers through our informative magazine,” said Norman Sakata, Festival president and chairman.

The comprehensive 32-page four-color Festival magazine is created as the primary promotional tool to deliver editorial features and Festival special event descriptions, locations, volunteer highlights, sponsor mentions and engaging pictures.

Since its inception in 1970 the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival has sought to preserve, perpetuate and promote Kona’s unique 182-year coffee heritage.

The 40th annual Kona Coffee Cultural Festival themed “Celebrating 40 Years of Kona Coffee Heritage” highlights 10 days of festivities honoring pioneers, farmers, artisans and coffee!

The Kona Coffee Cultural Festival is recognized and supported as a ‘Major Festival’ by Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) as the Festival showcases Hawaii’s unique culture and diversity.
