Kealakehe Waveriders crushed Konawaena Wildcats, 44-0, Friday evening at Konawaena High School.
The Wildcats couldn’t put together a series of plays to catch up with the charge of the Waveriders. A very young Konawaena team couldn’t score against a tough and large Waverider squad.
After digging themselves to a 37-0 halftime deficit, the Wildcat defense hung tough for the second half, allowing the Waveriders only one TD.
Several Waveriders made outstanding plays on defense and the offense managed a few aggressive plays, but could not put together a scoring drive.
Konawaena features a host of freshmen, sophomores and juniors, with only a handful of seniors on the squad.
Meanwhile, Kealakehe is comprised of mostly juniors and seniors.
