Kailua Village Business Improvement District officials said information in a letter to the editor published in the July 27 issue of West Hawaii Today is false.

The letter write said KVBID shared its email list with Ooma Beachside Village developer.

In a statement issued late Tuesday, KVBID officials denied they gave the list to anyone.

The full statement from Eric von Platen Luder, president of KVBID:

“Lisa Bergen’s accusation, published in (West Hawaii Today) on July 27 that the Kailua Village Business Improvement District improperly shared its mailing list, is untrue. The KVBID mailing list is proprietary and managed with care. KVBID uses its list to communicate with those who have expressed an interest in KVBID initiatives and special events in Historic Kailua Village.”
