Resident dies in Nanawale Estates house fire Wednesday night

Fire/rescue crews responded to a 11:16 p.m. alarm Wednesday (May 19) for a structure fire with a person, who was an invalid and unable to walk, trapped in the house at 14-801 Cholet Circle in Nanawale Estates.

Upon arrival crews found the living room of the home on fire with heavy smoke pouring out the front. Firefighters fought the blaze and found the victim badly burned on the living room couch with no signs of life. Paramedics on scene determined the victim was dead.

The single story, wood frame home was reported to be a total loss at $125,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
