Free light bulb exchange in Waimea

MEDIA RELEASE

Bring your new or used incandescent light bulb to Earl’s Garage before May 28, and you’ll receive free compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs). Each household can exchange up to 5 incandescent light bulbs for the free CFLs.

CFLs use less electricity to produce the same amount of light, helping you save money and energy. Exchanging your old light bulb will have even greater benefit: Earl’s Garage will receive $1 for every incandescent light bulb collected. Your CFLs are still FREE!

Earl’s Garage offers hands-on, minds-on activities based in science, technology, and creativity to kids, ages 7 and up. Open Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in Kamuela Business Center at 64-1032 Mamalahoa Highway (behind Tutu’s House), Earl’s Garage is supported by community donations, and grants. For more information, contact Katherine DuBose at 885-6777.

The CFL Light Bulb Exchange Fundraiser Project is a partnership between Blue Planet Foundation and The Kohala Center. Earl’s Garage is a project of Friends of the Future, a community based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. www.fofhawaii.org
