Angel Reading with Elena Athena
Date: May 14 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
Where: Kona Stories Book Shop Lanai

Come and hear what your angels have to say to you. Angels are powerful, wise and loving guides who can motivate and heal you in many ways. Elena Athena, an “Angel Reading Practitioner”, is a clairvoyant intuitive who will help you in giving a clear direction and tools in your spiritual journey. She is an Advanced Certified Angel therapist by Doreen Virtue. Readings will typically be 15 minutes for $20.

Free Keiki Story time
Date: May 18, 10:30 a.m.
Where: Kona Stories Book Shop
This story time designed with the pre-schooler in mind. This special hour is full of stories, music, crafts and snacks. Story time happens at your community bookstore on the third Tuesday of each month.

Lesbian Group Meets to Discuss “Risk” the newest book by Elana Dykewomon
Date: May 18, 6:30 p.m.
Location: Kona Stories Bookstore, Kainaliu
This woman identified group meets once a month to discuss films and books of lesbian nature. This month the group will discuss the book “Risk” by Elana Dykewomon. This book contemplates war, class, race, community, love, relationships and change in mythic, historic Berkeley. This group is free and open to all gay women looking for a network place. Bring a drink or pupu to share.

Feldenkrais Class
Date: May 19, 11 a.m.
Where: Kona Stories Ohana Room
This class taught by Debra Lerman has been exploring and teaching movement for more than 30 years. She holds degrees in dance and physical therapy, and over the past 10 years has practiced as a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner®. Class fee is $15 drop in or $40 per month.

Qi Gong Class
Date: Wednesday May 19, 4:30-6 p.m.
Where: Kona Stories Book Shop Ohana Room
This Qigong class will be taught by John W. Adams, L.Ac. This introductory class is appropriate for all levels and will focus on the eight pieces of Brocade Qigong. You will work on regulation of the body, the breath and the mind. Class fee is $50 per month or $15 drop in.

Free Writer’s Group at Kona Stories Book Shop
Date: May 20, 1 p.m.
Where: Kona Stories Book Shop Lanai
First & third Thursday afternoon a writer’s group meets on the beautiful lanai of Kona Stories Book Shop in Kainaliu. Local writers (both professional and amateur; and of all genres) meet in order to exchange ideas, feedback and information about the industry. Most importantly, the group serves to nurture literary creativity, create a local literary community, and inspire individual progress. Everyone is welcome and this event is FREE!

Catch Your Dreams Class by Nancy Kerner
Date: Thursday May 20, 4-6 p.m.
Where: Kona Stories Book Shop Ohana Room
This two-hour introductory class will be a preview into her all-day seminar coming on May 29. This class is a magical day of heartfelt connection, friendship and fun with light-minded women. They will focus on how to create and invoke new experiences while having fun. They will work on manifesting your dreams, a new project, a book or relationship. Experience the magic and miracles that come from being with a positive, safe, and loving community of women. $10 donation.

Feng Shui Book Signing and Seminar with Clear Englebert
Date: Saturday May 22, 12:30 p.m.
Where: Kona Stories Book Shop Ohana Room
The topic of the seminar is Feng Shui for Interiors, first covering the flow of chi energy and then discussing the bagua. A large amount of material will be covered and students are encouraged to record the seminar or be prepared to take plenty of notes. The seminar will cover the selection and placement of furniture and accessories, the power of color, deflecting harsh energy, sitting and sleeping in optimal locations, and houseplants. The bagua material will explain the two important back corners, the Wealth and Relationship Corners, as well as the other areas of the bagua. The book signing begins at 12:30pm and the seminar is 1-3pm. The seminar cost is $20; with $5 off if one of Englebert’s books is purchased from Kona Stories at the event.
