Hawaii People’s Fund spring grants awarded

MEDIA RELEASE

“Change, not charity” is the motto used by Hawaii People’s Fund.
The fund is a nonprofit organization that raises money to collectively support grassroots groups working for progressive social change throughout the islands.

Through community donations, donor advised funds, and partial matches from Hawaii Community Foundation, Hawaii People’s Fund recently facilitated awards of nearly $65,000 in spring grants.

Spring grantees include:
* God’s Country Waimanalo (Oahu)
* Hawaii Farmers Union (Islandwide)
* Hui Noeau (Maui)
* KAHEA (Islandwide)
* Kaiao Garden (Hawaii Island)
* Laa Kea Foundation (Maui)
* Maui Tomorrow (Maui)
* Mauna Kea Ainana Hou (Hawaii Island)
* Na Maka o ka Aina (Islandwide and beyond)
* Waikikena Foundation (Maui)
