Konawaena wins BIIF Division II softball title

The Konawaena Wildcats defeated the Kamehameha-Hawaii Warriors 10-7 in the BIIF softball Division II championship game Saturday (May 1). Wildcat pitcher Chelsey Shimamoto took the win while Warrior’s pitcher Kiani Wong took the loss despite striking out 12 batters.

BATTING
KONAWAENA
Krystina O. hit a single in the second.
Iisha Cho went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI, a double in the first that scored 1 run, a single in the second that scored 1 run, and a solo homerun in the fourth.
Emily Kainoa went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI, a single in the first that scored 1 run and a single in the second that scored 1 run.
Staysha G. hit a single in the sixth.
Chelsea S. hit a single in the fifth.
Rachel O. hit a single in the seventh.

KAMEHAMEHA – HAWAII
Jennifer Cameros went 2 for 5, a single in the second and a single in the fourth.
Kiani Matsumoto went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI, a double in the second and a single in the fourth that scored 1 run.
Kiani Wong went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI, a single in the first, a single in the fourth that scored a run, and a single in the sixth.
Kaala Ahu went 1 for 3 with 1 RBI, a single in the first that scored a run.
Deidre Kalani 1 for 4 with 1 RBI, a single in the first that scored a run.
Kaina Mossman went 4 for 4, a single in the first, third, fifth, and seventh.
Melia Taganas hit a single in the seventh.
Jaylen Shiroma went 3 for 4, a single in the second, fourth, and seventh.
