Brushfire put out in Waiakea Uka Thursday (April 29)

Fire/rescue units repsonded to a 12:34 p.m. alarm Thursday (April 29) for a brushfire in Waiakea Uka.

Firefighers put out a three acre brushfire covering grassy terrain and overgrown brush using water drops from Chopper One along with ground units.

The cause of the blaze was a homeowner burning rubbish that got out of control. The fire took two hours to put out. The closest home threatened was 200 yards away from the fire.
