Elarionoff named ‘Officer of the Month’ (Feb. 3)

The Kona Crime Prevention Committee “Officer of the Month” luncheon will feature Officer Grad Elarionoff as the honoree. The setting for the noon Wednesday, Feb. 3 event will be The Paddlers Restaurant at The King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel.

Elarionoff is being recognized for his investigation of narcotics, leading to two arrests, and recovery of narcotics with an approximate street value of $222,000. This investigation is only one of example of several investigations for which Elarionoff has been responsible.

He has been assigned to the Vice Section for five years. Elarionoff continues to make an impact in the narcotics community and is well known amongst those responsible for distributing narcotics, it is evident that his efforts do not go unnoticed by them.

Officer Brent Foster, a school resource officer, will be the featured speaker at the lunch. He will provide an interactive DARE classroom program.

The Kona Crime Prevention Committee encourages community involvement in aiding and supporting the Kona Police Department in their efforts to prevent crime, deter potential criminals and enforce the law. Membership is open to organizations or individuals wishing to further the purposes of the Kona Crime Prevention Committee and is effective upon payment of dues.

The public is invited to attend the Officer of the Month luncheons held on the first Wednesday of each month. Cost of the luncheon is $15, all inclusive at the Paddlers Restaurant. Parking in the King Kamehameha lot is an additional $2.
