Police investigating damage to vehicle at Hilo Walmart

MEDIA RELEASE

The Hawai’i Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in a property damage investigation. According to the victim, his red 2005 Ford Ranger pickup truck tailgate was keyed (purposely had paint scratched-off) while parked near the Garden Section of the Hilo Wal-Mart store on December 1, 2009, at approximately 9:00 a.m.

Police ask that anyone who may have witnessed the vehicle being damaged to call Officer Colin Pacheco at 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.

  1. yes they key my car near elsworth motorcycle shop on the night of labor day party the guy who did it is a PUNK big time i hope the police catch that crook and lock him up

    What does “key” mean, i.e.: “They key my car” and “his red 2005 Ford Ranger pickup truck tailgate was keyed”? A writer should not assume that the reader comprehends everything he jots down. The editor is also negligent.
