MEDIA RELEASE

The Neighbor Island Speech and Debate Tournament host, Parker School, received the trophy for the most points scored in debate at the Jan. 15-16 tournament.

Parker School debate teams placed as follows:

* Varsity Policy; 1st place: Mary Kamitaki and Annie Sturges; 2nd place: Briana Boche and Victoria Andrade-McKeehan.

* Junior Varsity Policy: 1st place: Paul Gregg and Aidan Wharton.

* Beginning Public Forum: 1st place: Jenna Gerdsen and Corey Patton.

* Championship Lincoln-Douglas: 1st: Zen Michael Kuriyama; 3rd: Mario Everett; 4th: Jesse Tarnas.

* Novice Lincoln-Douglas: 5th place: Kieran Najita

All of these students qualified for the state tournament finals in April on Oahu.
