Pahoa woman beaten in September robbery

Big Island police are investigating a reported home invasion robbery that took place in Pahoa early on the morning of Sept. 8.

Puna Patrol officers were dispatched to an Alapai Street home in the Leilani Estates subdivision, where a 26-year-old woman reported an unknown man entered her home and demanded marijuana. The suspect physically beat the victim and then left the home with undisclosed personal belongings.

The suspect wore a mask, but is described as about 6 feet tall with green eyes and tan skin.

The victim was treated at Hilo Medical Center for her injuries and released.

Detectives assigned to the Police Department’s Area I Criminal Investigations Section are continuing the investigation.

Police urge anyone with information about this incident or anyone who may be involved to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 or 329-8181.
