Civic association gears up for golden anniversary

Okadakashinryu Taishokoto performers (Hawaii 24/7 photo special by Margaret Masunaga)

The Kona Japanese Civic Association recently hosted the Okadakashinryu Taishokoto performers at the Daifukuji hall in Honalo.

Performers included Master Ruriko Katsuki, Sensei Mariko Katsuki, and Sensei Michiko Sato.
Supporters of the cultural exchange between Japan and Kona were:  Uki Izawa, Walter Kunitake, Morris Nagata, Country Samurai Kona Coffee, County of Hawaii, Ed Kaneko, Asahi Dye Cope, Tatsu Hirano, Koyo USA Corp., Mr. Kayama, and other members of the board of the Kona Japanese Civic Association.
In 2010, the Kona Japanese Civic Association will be celebrating it’s 50th golden anniversary.
