Waimea fire damages storage building, boat and trucks

Fire/rescue crews responded to a 10:23 p.m. alarm Sunday (Nov 1) for a storage building fire at 64-1037 Kekauluohi Street in Waimea.

Upon arrival crews found a 20 square foot storage building engulfed in flames to the rear of a residential property. In addition to the storage building the fire damaged a 25 foot fishing boat and three pickup trucks parked near the structure.

There were no injuries in the blaze and the cause was determined to be spontanious combustion. The loss in the fire was estimated to be worth $125,000.
