Governor’s senior policy advisor to address state budget and fiscal outlook

HONOLULU – The Governor’s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors for West Hawai‘i will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Liquor Commission Conference Room, 75-5722 Hanama Place, Suite 1107, Kailua-Kona. The public is invited to attend.

Linda Smith, the Governor’s senior policy advisor, will give a presentation on the State budget and fiscal outlook and the Lingle-Aiona Administration’s five-point economic revitalization plan. After the presentation, there will be time for questions and answers, including public testimony.

“The Governor encourages the public to attend to share concerns or ideas they may have regarding state government,” said Andy Smith, the Governor’s West Hawai‘i Liaison.

Governor Linda Lingle created Councils of Neighbor Island Advisors to give the neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government. The council holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues, public priorities, and recommendations for state boards and commissions.

Members of the Governor’s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors for West Hawai‘i are Rick Vidgen, Estela Halverson, Glennon Gingo, Elaine Watai, Jon Adams, Gunner Mentch and Rodney Ito.
