First Hamakua CDP meetings set

MEDIA RELEASE

The Hamakua Community Development Plan process gets under way Tuesday Sept. 8, with the first of three informational meetings in rural South Hilo, North Hilo, and Hamakua.

The Hamakua Community Development Plan (CDP) will serve as a forum to map out the community’s 20‐year plan for land use, the delivery of government services, and much more.

The purpose of these meetings is to:

  • introduce interested residents to the CDP project team;
  • learn about the Hamakua CDP and how it affects you and your community; and
  • find out how to actively participate in the CDP process.

The first meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 8 at Kalanianaole School cafeteria. The second meeting is on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at Honokaa High School cafeteria. The third meeting is Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Laupahoehoe High School band room.

Each meeting starts at 6 p.m. with formal presentations starting at 6:30 p.m.; refreshments will be served.
