The Hawaii County Office of Aging announces the presentation of “Powerful Tools for Caregivers,” a class beginning August 3, 2009, 1 p.m. at Kahi Malama, the Aging and Disabilities Resource Center located at 1055 Kinoole Street.

The class runs for two-and-a-half hours and meets weekly on Mondays, 1-3:30 p.m. Developed by Legacy Health Systems in Portland, Oregon, this evidence-based class focuses on the family caregiver and the challenges those caregivers face.

Led by Sally Wehrsig, a program planner with the Hawaii County Office of Aging, the course is designed to provide tools to caregivers that give them the power to manage their situations and their reactions to their caregiving experience. Class size is limited. Contact Sally Wehrsig, 961-8626, for registration information. Tuition is free.
