Fire/Rescue crews responded to a 4:59 p.m. brushfire in Waikoloa Village near Puu Nui Street burning in a designated greenway corridor between residences.

Firefighters brought the fire under control with 16 minutes of arriving and declared the fire out 1.5 hours later. The burnt one acre of land consists of grass and small trees. There was no loss of property reported and no injuries.
