Free video workshop for kids, film festival with prizes

Announcing the first annual Digital Mountain ’09: It’s My Park! Film Festival, a special event designed to actively engage, inspire, and help equip youth with digital media skills, while strengthening ties to one of Hawaii’s most cherished sites: The Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park.

It couldn’t be easier to learn some exciting new movie-making skills, even if you’ve never touched a video camera before. We’re bringing professional video/filmmakers and a classroom on wheels (filled with computer workstations) to a town near you, and inviting youth, 7th – 12th grades, to learn, build a video, submit it to our short film festival, and have the chance to WIN!

No charge to take workshops, no charge to shoot & edit your film on our equipment, no charge to enter the festival. Student workshops start Monday, July 13, 2009 and repeat through the month of July.
