Brush fire in Paauilo Sunday

Fire/Rescue crews responded to a 1:58 p.m. alarm for a brushfire in Paauilo Sunday (July 5).

Upon arrival firefighters found a two-acre brushfire in open farmland moving west towards several structures. County and volunteer firefighters contained and extinguished the blaze.

No structures were damaged, no injuries were reported and no roads were blocked. The fire was under control by 2:50 p.m. and was reported out at 7:30 p.m.

The possible cause of the fire was reported to be an unattended camp stove.
