Toll free phone offers access to free federal resources

MEDIA RELEASE

These days, you don’t have time for advice that costs money or sends you in the wrong direction. Your tax dollars pay for an information service to help you, so use it!

Call 1 (800) FED-INFO (that’s 1-800-333-4636) to reach the federal government’s answer hotline, where they’ll answer your government-related questions or get you to someone who can.

You may be wondering what the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act means for your family. Unfortunately, you won’t get a check in the mail this year, but your community may benefit from the funds.

Call 1 (800) FED-INFO to learn about the federal, state and local government projects that will receive the money and the number of jobs in your state that may be available as a result.

You may also be wondering where to turn when you’ve got questions about housing. The information specialists at 1 (800) FED-INFO can guide you to the right government agencies for housing assistance or mortgage counseling if you’re having trouble paying your mortgage. They can also help you find resources if you’re moving, considering buying a foreclosure, or purchasing a house for the first time.

There is also tons of information on the Web site, so check that out, too.
