Pahoa library closed for over two months starting May 30

MEDIA RELEASE

Pahoa Public and School Library (Big Island) is scheduled to close beginning Saturday, May 30 for approximately 2 1/2 months for health, safety, and accessibility improvements. The book drop will be closed from Friday, June 5 at 5 p.m. until the library reopens after renovations are completed.  An announcement will be made when the library is scheduled to reopen.

Requested items for patrons will be sent to Hilo Public Library (300 Waianuenue Ave.) for pick up unless other accommodations are made.  There will be no summer reading programs at Pahoa Public & School Library. However, patrons may visit Mountain View Public & School Library (telephone: 968-2322) or Hilo Public Library (933-8888) to participate in these programs, and for other library service needs.  For directions to these libraries, please call the telephone numbers as listed.

In addition, patrons may log-on to the HSPLS website: www.librarieshawaii.org from their home or office computer, to browse the HSPLS Catalog for book titles, eBooks, digital audio books, EBSCOhost (features a wide variety of online databases), which provides full-text materials from magazines, newspapers, journals, and other publications.
