Hilo and Honokaa win, Pahoa and Kohala lose in boys state volleyball Thursday

2009 New City Nissan Boys Volleyball Division-II Championships

Hilo beats BIIF rival Pahoa in the state tournament to advance into a 7 p.m. Division-II semifinal match against Seabury Hall at Kalani High School tonight. Pahoa plays Waipahu tonight at 5 p.m. at Kalani High School for the 5th place semifinals.

Honokaa beats Kaimuki 22-25, 25-23, 19-17 Thursday and advances to an 8 a.m. Saturday consolation game against Kapolei for seventh place in the state Division-II 2009 New City Nissan Boys Volleyball Championships at McKinley High School.

Kohala lost to Hawaii Baptist Thursday and will play a 5 p.m. fifth place semifinal game against Waimea at Farrington High School tonight.
