Renewable energy on agenda for Kona Town meeting

What is the future for renewable energy on the Big Island? How can you benefit from renewable energy?

The Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative directs that 70 percent of energy used in Hawaii to be from sustainable renewable energy by 2030. Come learn how this plan will be implemented and how it will benefit all Hawaii residents.

Guest speakers include: Ted Peck, state DEBDT energy administrator; Randy Kurohara, director of the county R & D Department; Guy Toyama, executive director of Friends of NELHA; Bill Brooks, president of Energy Specialists Hawaii; Rep. Cindy Evans and Rep. Denny Coffman.

The Kona Town meeting is 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Makaeo Events Pavilion, Old Kona Airport Park.

This Kona Town meeting is sponsored by Energy Specialists Hawaii.

Kona Town meetings are presented by Community Enterprises, a non-partisan, non-profit organization, to provide vital information on community concerns to Kona citizens. Light refreshments will be served.
