Booklovers meeting April 21 at Kona library

MEDIA RELEASE

On Tuesday, April 21, the Kona Library Book Club meets at 11 a.m. on the lanai of the Kailua-Kona Public Library.

This month’s selection is “The Glass Castle” by Jeanette Walls.

This is a rollicking, memorable memoir of the life she shared with her parents and three siblings. The parents maintained their love-hate relationship, hippie-like naiveté, and nonconformist behavior throughout their lives, thus creating a deeply dysfunctional family unit that raises questions about family, dreams, reality, and the power of perseverance to overcome against all odds, whatever challenges a person faces.

Join us for a lively discussion and light refreshments.

The Book Club will meet in May to discuss “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Sponsored by Friends of the Libraries, Kona, participants are encouraged to become FOLK members.
