Marshall Kanehailua to Assistant Chief

Hawai’i County Police Chief Harry Kubojiri has promoted Marshall Kanehailua to Assistant Chief effective April 16.

 

Kanehailua now oversees the Administrative Bureau, filling a vacancy created when Paul Ferreira was promoted to deputy chief.

Kanehailua had been acting assistant chief since the beginning of the year. Until then, he was the major in charge of the Administrative Services Division.

He previously served as captain of the Internal Affairs and Criminal Intelligence Units and of the Ka’u District. Before that, he worked with the Vice Section’s Ice Task Force.

Kanehailua is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He joined the Hawai’i Police Department in 1990.
