Cross-town rivals Hilo and Waiakea met Saturday night at the Hilo Armory. Both teams brought a strong fan presence to the gym. The Warriors came out strong in the first set and the Vikings matched them closely, with the Warriors winning the set 25 to 21. The second set was played in the same fashion, with Waiakea taking it 25 to 21 again. The third set is where the game got interesting, with Hilo stepping up and stealing the set away, 26 to 24, and taking the match to a fourth set. Waiakea proved too much for Hilo, however, and took the final set 25 to 17.
